INKUR / TEKKIRAZ / CAYBASI – ORDU WATERTREATMENT & SUPPLY PROJECT

Project Overview

Water supply system for 3 neighboring towns Inkur, Tekkiraz and Caybasi, located in the province of Ordu.
This was a very mountainous and rural region. Inhabitants are extremely scattered across the land and steep
slopes of the mountains do not give easy passage.

This project required us to reach every corner of those towns, which was sometimes a real challenge due to
poor transportation facilities and deep excavation requirements of the project; most of the time we had to
build our own service road first in order to operate

Project scope included construction of a water treatment plant (precipitation pools, sand filters, sand washing and storing pools, laboratory and administration building, chlorine contact pool, treated water reservoir).

Water was obtained from a natural spring at the height of 900 meters and transferred to that treatment plant with a gravity line. This line was to be operated under such pressures that special steel pipes made of ST55 were custom manufactured.

Then water was transferred down to elevations of 150 400 meters, where the towns were located. Distribution reservoirs and network was in the scope as well.

Client: Bank of Provinces
Final Completion: 1996
