FATSA-ORDU, WATER SUPPLY & DISTRIBUTION PROJECT

Project goal was to supply fresh water to the City of Fatsa, located on the north shore of Turkey, a very mountainous region.

Fatsa project took more than 10 years, although with long disruptions, as scope broadened considerable during construction. Project was executed under three separate contracts with the governmental agency but we prefer calling the whole job the Fatsa project.

Project scope included numerous service reservoirs, as the flow rates of the springs that water was pumped out were variable due to seasonal precipitation fluctuations. Pump stations and pressure-break structures were constructed as
the paths from the sources to the city had steep ups and downs. Also motopump stations were built in order to elevate water to the peeks of the city from service reservoirs, up to 400 meter. Construction of the distribution network progressed simultaneously with water delivery efforts.
